What if we don't have an item you need?

If our library does not own the item you need, you can:

  • Request it from another library to be delivered to you via Interlibrary Loan.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Information is published in books, magazines, journals, pamplets, There is an enormous amout of information published each year. Libraries select materials according ot the needs of their communities, but libraries cannot obtain everything that is pubished each year. For this reason, your library may not have a book, a magazine or journal article that you need. Libraries all over the world have adopted a policy of cooporation in which they share materials that they have with other libraries. This service is called InterLibrary loan and it aids you to obtain the materials that you need.


FAQs For Interlibrary Loan

Q. Who can use Interlibrary Loan?

A. Any student, staff or faculty member of Eastern Oklahoma State College


Q. Is there a fee for using Interlibrary Loan?

A. No this service is free for students, staff and faculty.


Q. Is there a limit on the number of items that can be requested?

A. Yes, there is a limit of three items (books/articles) per person. 


Q. How long will it take my items to arrive?

A. Wait time will depend on the items requested. Books usually take 2-3 weeks minimum to arrive at our library. Articles take 1-10 business days to arrive at our library. The person requesting the items(s) will be notified when their items are available for pickup.


Q. Is there a charge if I return my books late?

A. Yes, the lending library will assess fines for overdue books. Person requesting materials are responsible for paying any late charges on their books.


Q. What happens if I lose or damage the books I borrow?

A. You will be charged a $15.00 replacement fee from Eastern Oklahoma State College Library and the book charges (replacement fee and book cost) from the lending library.
